we Believe
The Downtown
Bixby Church of Christ is a non-denominational family
of Christians who exist to know God and make Him known
to those around us.
We believe that
Jesus, God's Son, came to offer us a full and abundant
life. We receive forgiveness of all our
sins-past, present and future-when we express our
faith in sincere repentance and water baptism in the
name of Jesus. When we are baptized, we are
confessing the Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection
is completely sufficient to save us.
As saved people
who are daily experiencing the grace of God, we also
believe that we are called to discipleship, to
obedience. As we walk in Jesus' footsteps, we
believe that we are being conformed to His Image.
We believe in the authority of the Bible as the Very
Word of God and the continuing work of the Holy Spirit
to convict, transform, and mold us into His likeness.
As a community
of Christians, we believe that the church is God's
gift of community to us. We believe that the
church is a place for people who are hurting. We
believe that the church is a place to grow in your
relationship with God. We believe that we are
called to carry each other's burdens. And we are
striving to be a community that is...
